We are very sad to report that our beautiful boy, Max, did not make it through surgery this afternoon. Things were going well, they had removed the tissue and were beginning to warm up his body temperature to get his heart started again, they tried to get it pumping for quite some time but just couldn't get it going. ...His foster mom is heartbroken, as we all are... We'd like to thank everyone who donated, sent well-wishes and good vibes for our Max. We'd also like to thank the vets at NorthStar for all of their efforts! The surgery, while it didn't have the outcome we all wanted, was his only chance at a normal life.
Although we did not have an excess in Max's Broken Heart Fund, it will be established as Max's Broken Heart Memorial Fund and any future donations made to it will be used to help any Weims that come into our rescue in the future that may need cardiac care.
