Foster Homes Needed
Our organization is
always in need of foster homes. The more foster homes we
have, the more lives we can save. Obtaining a Kennel for
our Rescue Weimaraners is a constant goal for us! Right
now we need people who can offer their homes as
temporary residences for our dogs until permanent owners
can be found.
Please keep in mind animals in our program normally
spend 1 to 3 months in their foster home before being
adopted. You MUST be willing to make that time
commitment for a dog to foster. We do not juggle our
dogs around or put multiple rescues into a foster home
under normal circumstances. PLEASE email us

Basic Requirements for fostering a dog
· You
will need to provide: food, collar, leash, and dog
dishes for foster dog.
·
If you do not own your home, you need your landlord's
written permission to have a foster dog in your home.
You also need written permission from roommates.
· Most
foster dogs will require fenced-in area. This depends
entirely on the foster dog's personality and training .
· We
prefer your own dogs to be neutered/spayed and friendly
with other dogs .
·
We do look for short-term fostering in rare occasions,
but most often we're looking for longer term foster
care. Weimaraners on the whole do not do well in an
unstable environment, so we prefer not to move them into
different foster homes. The length of time can vary
from 1 week to several months with the average being
about 1 or 2 months.
· The
Foster homes will not need to worry about screening for
forever homes. Foster homes are required to provide the
rescue with details on the dogs temperament so we can
place them in the correct home.
·
We
do not expect you to train him to be the perfect dog but
ask that you work on the basics.
·
If
training is provided by the foster home we require it to
positive training only.
